To Do assessment items appearing in the browser aren’t showing up in the iOS app. Is there any way I can get them to appear?
I tested this in my own sandbox course. After I created an assignment in my course with a due date of tomorrow but have availability dates from this past Monday through this coming Saturday, I did receive a push-notification to my iPhone Canvas app that a new assignment had been created, but it wasn't listed in my "To Do" tab of the app. This makes sense because I am not technically a student in the course. I'm enrolled as the instructor.
So, my next step was to go to another sandbox course of mine where I was enrolled as a student. As an admin, I created an assignment in this other course very similar to the assignment I created in the first sandbox course. This time, I received a similar push-notification to my iPhone's Canvas app. However, the assignment showed up in my "To Do" list. This is because I had previously enrolled myself as a student in the course...so the app was telling me I needed to complete the assignment. In the first sandbox course, since I was technically enrolled as the instructor, I didn't have anything "to do"...because I was waiting for student submissions. That's why I wasn't seeing anything in my "To Do" list in the app...and that's why you wouldn't see anything in your "To Do" list, either.
I hope this helps, Victor!
Thanks for testing Chris,
I do have both student and instructor accounts and had tested this myself before posting.
I think the issue actually was that the assignment "Available from" and "Until" dates were set to the same as the due date. Now that these have been set correctly I can see the next assessment due this week in To Do but not the other three assessments due in September and October. Do you know if this is this the expected behaviour in To Do?
Thanks again Chris
Victor, according to this guide--How do I use the Course Home Page as a student? --the To Do list displays two weeks' worth of items, so yes, I believe what you're seeing would be expected behavior.
