Duplicates in Calendar Feed

Question asked by Terence Ma on Aug 20, 2016

We have developed a master calendar for each academic cohort (Class of 2019; Class of 2020). The calendar consists of all the courses in which students are enrolled. Students are reporting that whenever they use the Calendar Feed to send the calendar to Google or Outlook. To be extra careful, we tried the following instructions:

  • Delete your Canvas link from before.
  • Log out of Canvas and close your browser.
  • Go back and unlink all courses in the calendar – completely blank.
  • Log out of Canvas and close your browser.
  • Go back in and select only the ones listed (personal calendar, master calendar).
  • Log out of Canvas and close your browser.
  • Now create the link.

Regrettably, this does not seem to work and students are still getting duplicates (as if they were getting the calendars of both the Master calendar and the course calendar).

What should I tell the students to do to just get the Master calendar and their personal calendar?

Thank you.
