Is it possible to import a test bank into my Canvas course from my colleague's Canvas Course?
How do I do this?
The colleague can make a quiz that includes all of the questions in the bank and export the quiz: How do I export quiz content from my course? Next, the colleague can email you the quiz file, and you can import the quiz into your class: How do I import quizzes from QTI packages?
When you import the quiz, it will add them to an unfiled test bank, and you can move the whole group of questions to a bank of your choosing: How do I move multiple questions from one question bank to another?
I hope that helps, Lydia!
Having done this myself for people at my institution as someone with administrative privileges, the only ways that I know to do this are:
This assumes, of course, that these are not banks from a publisher, in which case there may be copyright issues--especially if you are not using the publisher's text!
Posting banks in Canvas Commons is NOT possible in this scenario. You can share individual quizzes, but not entire banks to the best of my knowledge.
Hope this helps!
D'oh! That's obviously the right way to do it. I'm so used to people just asking me to do it for them. (That, and a general faculty reluctance to handle ZIP files and downloads many times.)
Ken Black, don't feel bad. I've never told a faculty member to create a zip file, etc... (I'd probably lose them at that point). We either copy it for them or create a shared course that they can share content and use it any way they want. Yet, not every faculty member has people as awesome as us working at their Institution! ;-)
THANK YOU. Wow, I really appreciate your prompt help.
Warm regards, Lydia

You make a fair point, Ken. Zip files can make people nervous for some reason.
