Course Publishing Issue

Has anyone experienced this same issue? We informed our teachers that they should publish their courses before leaving yesterday so that when the term opens/ school years starts on Tuesday they will be ready for students to access. Some courses are showing up on the dashboard and students can see the lessons and pages but not work others students don't see at all (which we want) and show an error message when trying to access the direct course link.

Why is this happening? Is there a setting we need to look into for the courses that are showing?
