I gave a quiz in class using Canvas. Most of the students took it using Canvas and that worked well. A few students chose to take it on paper. Can I manually input their answers and set their submission to on time?
Hi Kenneth Volk - Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to do this. Just as you cannot upload a student online paper yourself into crocodoc/SpeedGrader for grading, Canvas does not allow for this, either. (Well, a Canvas Administrator can always "masquerade" as a user, but you really don't want to have the administrator do that for that purpose! That is more for trouble-shooting things.)
You may already know this, but you CAN still input a grade for that student "manually" into either SpeedGrader or the online gradebook. Canvas will always allow you to input a grade on your own, even if the student did not do the quiz online.
Thanks, Ken. I'll stop looking for a way to manually enter the answers for students who hadn't taken the quiz online. Yes, I had found a way to enter the quiz grades for those students. Hopefully the students saw how easy it was to take the quiz on phones, tablets, laptops, and lab computers. First quiz on the first class using Canvas so there was some trepidation.
