How do I save inputted grades into GRADES? I can't find a button to push to save, or do they save automatically?
Hi Ronald Kean - The latter! This can be a bit disarming for some people used to seeing a SUBMIT button, as there is for Comments. I generally recommend to faculty to input a grade and then simply click away (or press ENTER or TAB) and once the cursor moves its "focus" to the next cell in grades, you can assume that the grade has been saved properly. There is additional information here that you will want to look at: How do I enter and edit grades in the Gradebook?
If--for your own peace of mind!--you would prefer to see a submit button of some sort, you may want to click on the little "cloud" icon that you see in the upper-right corner, and on the ensuing screen there will be an "Update Grade" button, as outlined here: How do I leave comments for students in the Gradebook? Personally, I find that to be rather cumbersome and slow. (Plus there are separate buttons for grades and comments. Clicking one will not save the other.)
Final recommendation: consider muting before scoring, since it sounds like you may be new to Canvas: How do I mute or unmute an assignment in the Gradebook? That way, when you unmute, all grades are released simultaneously to students rather than one-by-one.
Probably more than you needed to know! Hope this helps.
