Does Canvas have an online tutoring feature for community colleges? This might be through Canvas or through the college itself. Is anyone using Canvas for tutoring, and if so, how? Thank you!
Our Accommodations office is working with creating a Virtual Tutoring course in Canvas. The way they want this to work is to have the tutors and students added to the course in Canvas, and an appointment time is set. For the appointment, the tutor creates a Conference, and the student gets an invitation to join the conference. The tutor and student are then able to 'meet' for their appointment. If there is any sort of file that needs to be reviewed during the meeting (for example, for an English or composition class), the student submits the file ahead of time so that the tutor has it for the appointment.
To give the tutors training on how to use Canvas (especially the Conferences feature) we created a "Tutor Training" course in Canvas that covers the basics of working in a Canvas course, and how to work with Conferences.
This is all just in a 'testing' stage right now, and I am not sure just when it will go 'live' but we are very hopeful that it works out well for our students.
Sandra, this is a popular topic of conversation in the Community, so you might be interested in reading through some of the previous discussions of this and viewing the resources:

Also, since your question doesn't have a single correct answer, I've changed the format of the post to a discussion.
Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but we just enabled an LTI integration with eTutoring.org, an online tutoring platform that we use. We've put a link in the course left nav. We're still piloting it, but we're hopeful to enable across all courses in Spring 2017. If you want any more info, I'm happy to discuss further.
For anyone interested in this topic, be sure to RSVP to the CanvasLIVE event Let Data Be Your Compass: Effective Use of Instructional Data which is coming up this Thursday, November 3, 2016. If you are able to attend, RSVP "Yes"--and if you're interested, but your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend in real time, RSVP "No" or "Maybe" to receive any post-event updates.
