Why would a module not work in sequential order on the Canvas app but it works on the mobile site?
By chance, is the next step an assignment with a modified availability date? If an assignment is not yet available, those details will not open to students like they do in the browser.
My guess is that it's because the app isn't a 100% identical version/isn't the same as what you'll see on your desktop (or mobile browser). There are a number of things that don't look the same or don't work quite the same on the app and this might be one of them. I'm not sure though so I'm going to share this with the Canvas Mobile Users Group group to see if they can help!
Modules should work in sequential order on both browser and the app. Are there any requirements in place within the module? Is this a consistent experience, or is it unique to a particular course or module?
There are requirements. The students have completed the requirements but it will say the next step is locked. It is unique to this course.
No it doesn't and the odd thing is some students can get it to work and others can not. There doesn't seem to reason why.
Interesting. I would submit a ticket from a couple of different student's devices and link the cases with your Canvas Support team.
