Here's my reasoning behind this question ... when a voting period opens, (i.e., Wed. October 5, 2016 - Wed. January 4, 2017), I go through the feature ideas, and will vote up the ones that I feel have merit or importance to our institution. Then, as the weeks go by, I will follow and watch for other ideas I may not have considered the first go-round. But by the third month, I find myself reading ideas further and further 'down' the list, and voting more casually for (perhaps) less impactful items then I did two months ago. At that point, the number of ideas being promoted is being 'diluted', as more and more ideas hang around approaching 100-votes.
I would be curious to see how you feel about this. As our community grows in size, any thoughts on shortening the voting period, or increasing the threshold for promotion to the next step?
