I'm in a 'course' as a student about a year abroad that is not relevant to me and I would like to leave. Is there a way for me to leave this course?
To follow up with what Christopher said, it actually depends on how you were added to the course. If you self-enrolled into the course (so enrolled yourself into the course) then you can follow these directions to remove yourself from the course - How do I drop a self-enrolled Canvas course?. If you were added to the course by the Instructor or the Institution then, as Christoper said, you would need to contact the Instructor or Institution (or Canvas Admin) to remove you from the course. You should be able to contact the Instructor of the course through your Canvas Inbox (messaging) or to contact a Canvas Admin by clicking on the Help link (bottom left in Canvas) and "Report a Problem."
Hope this helps!
Hello and welcome to the Canvas Community!
To address your question, students are not able to dictate their enrollment status in courses. You would need to contact the instructor or an administrator for the institution to request the removal.
This is mostly a way to ensure that enrollment removals are properly documented by the institution's requirements. It would also be chaos for some students who accidentally hit the "Disenroll" button just below the "View Profile" button. ;)
