need help submitting my work once the portal has been reopened by the professor
Sheila, you've posted your question in the Canvas Community, where teachers and students exchange their tips and tricks about how to use the Canvas platform; the members of this Community aren't able to look at specific accounts or courses to diagnose issues. When your professor suggested that you "reach out to Canvas" she undoubtedly meant that you should submit a support ticket (How do I get help with Canvas?). Click on the Report a Problem option on the Help menu to get started. Good luck!
Hi! If you look at How do I submit an online assignment?, there are some great visuals that will walk you through how to submit an assignment in Canvas. Please reply if the document doesn't answer your question! I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot.

I understand the tutorial but along the side panel where it should say
assignments it doesn't for me so when I try to go on the week to submit the
portal view says no assignments accepted .... There professor has opened it
and it still says and does the same thing... I need help

Canvas allows instructors to customize their courses; some may decide to disable a link or two from the left-hand course navigation to encourage students to experience their coursework in a specific way.
Earlier in the term, were you able to click "Assignments" in that left-hand navigation, or have you navigated to the assigned activities through Modules or a list created on a Page?
Based on what you've shared, it sounds like your professor needs to modify the assignment's availability dates, which is separate from the due date. By any chance, does your professor require you to use TurnItIn? There are some settings that an instructor would need to modify there if your work is technically after the deadline.
