My professor claims she has attached a file for me but I cannot find it at all..she said if I look at the message in Canvas I'd see it but I cannot find it anywhere!

You posted this to the worldwide Canvas Community, so as fellow Canvas users we are not in a position to see the message or check your Canvas site, but I have a couple of thoughts on this:
One way around this is that your Professor should reply to your original message via his/her own Canvas Inbox, again assuming that this all began with your messaging the Professor from within Canvas. There the attachment will work.
If, however, this was a message your Professor sent that was not a reply, it's hard to say what might have happened!
(I am also assuming from the tone of your message that the file is not somewhere in the Canvas course site itself, in which case it can appear in one of several places, not the least of which is Files.)
Does this help at all? If your issue fits none of the above scenarios, it may be best to contact your institution's support. (Help>>Report a Problem within Canvas, which will usually go through your institution first.)
