Students are unable to attach an imovie file to the Canvas discussion from their Ipad. Any ideas?
Sorry about that!
First, make sure you enabled the ability for students to attach files to discussions. You change this setting on the web:
How do I allow students to attach files to a course discussion? | Canvas Instructor Guide | Canvas Guides
For students using the iPad and iMovie:
Students will need to export a final video into the Photo Library, then attached the file from the Photo Library to the discussion using "Choose From Libary..." in their discussion post.
Here's a video showing the process:

Please let me know if this helps.
Hi Belinda Stutzman:
Can you give me a little more information on the issues that students are having?
Here is a video of me uploading a movie from iMovie.

I hope showing you this process might help us solve this issue. Thanks!
Your video shows submitting an imovie to an assignment. The title of my
question is attaching a movie file to a discussion.

Yes, that is the process students are using. It is unstable and will not
work for everyone

Belinda, have you asked the affected students to submit help tickets so that Canvas Support can determine why the process Ryan Seilhamer described is not working for them?
This is an ongoing issue with discussions. I have made a help ticket.
