Did you experience missing content display or buttons not working, related to browser cache?

Some of your users experienced the following problems which appeared to be related to browser cache:

  • Submit button missing on quiz page
  • Complete question missing on quiz page
  • Save and Save and Publish button in Assignment not working (without any indication of loading page)


After deleting browser cache, these problems were solved for the moment (not permanent).

In all of these cases modern and updated browsers were used.


Some may see browser cache as the cause of the problem, but if critical functions in Canvas rely too much on browser cache (which is nothing more than a mechanism to prevent re-downloading the same content over and over again), than the solution should be found there. Modern browsers are supported and not limited to inprivate/incognito mode or only after deleting cache every time before using Canvas.
