Is it possible to embed a clip (e.g. Youtube) on a presentation and show it via Conference?
I just checked around for some documentation, and as of January of last year this capability is still not available for BBB (Canvas Conferences), but I suspect you would rather hear from the source. Big Blue Button's Owner/Creator/CEO is a member of this Community, so I'll ping him to see what he can tell us.
Fred Dixon Can you help Ann. I hope I didn't mangle your credentials above.
I'm the product manager for BigBlueButton and CEO of Blindside Networks.
I can't speak on behalf of Instructure, but as the product manager for BigBlueButton (which is what Canvas Conferences is built upon), we are planning to add this feature in the future.
Our focus for this year is mobile -- and I would be really happy to deliver a mobile client for BigBlueButton to the Canvas Community. I can't make any promises for the ability to play a video file within BigBlueButton, but it would come after the delivery of the mobile client.
For the moment, we recommend pasting a external link in the chat to any video file you want students to watch. They can each click the link and watch it at the speed of their own internet connection. Furthermore, the pasted link will be visible in the chat for the recording, which enables students watching the recording later on to view the same external video.
Thanks Fred !
Sorry about your mangled title, but I do appreciate your help for Ann!
