How do I watch files in "slide show" mode?
Hello, Stewart , Welcome to the Canvas Community! If you're a student, please know that slide show mode is not a feature that is native to Canvas files, so if you're trying to access files from the Files link in the course navigation (if the instructor has made that link visible), you'll need to preview them. Depending on whether you're accessing those files through a browser or a mobile device, here are some guides that might help:
How do I view course files as a student?
How do I view Course Files in the Canvas app on my iOS device?
If you're a teacher, you can drop links to the files in a module; you will then be able to navigate through the files by clicking on the link to the first file in the module, and then clicking the Next button at the bottom left to scroll through the files you've placed in the module. The steps for doing this are detailed in How do I add assignment types, pages, and files as module items? These are the document types that are currently supported for preview, as detailed in What types of documents can be previewed in Canvas? : doc,.docx, ppt, pptx, zip, pdf, odt, odp, ods, odg, odf, sxw, sxc, sxi, txt, and rtf.
Hope this helps!
