How do I print a students quiz after they have taken it?
I'm on a PC, so here's what you can do in the SpeedGrader by right-clicking on an area of the quiz from within the browser:
Does this help?
Chris Hofer is correct, but I will say that it might not be pretty. In general things don't always print that well from Canvas and a lot of the time we recommend copying and pasting from Canvas into word, cleaning it up, and then printing from there.
Some additional notes for you (and for others) on this question:
Hi, I have a related issue but it is distinct. I have my quizzes set up to draw items from different item banks that are basically the same question but worded differently or with different examples (to reduce cheating). Thus, each student has a slightly different quiz even though it's the same content. When my students want to review the quiz (because I don't give out answers) I need to be able to print an individual student's results. Cutting and pasting and cleaning up for 50 items per exam takes FOREVER and I have a lot of students. Is this going to be addressed when the print quiz function is introduced (I'm aware it's on the radar and currently archived)? Do I need to submit an idea to make this happen? We need both the capability to print a given quiz for accessibility for students and we need to be able to print results to go over the quizzes with students without having to hand copy, paste, and edit the quiz. Thank you for any suggestions you can offer!
I'd add this feedback to the The specified item was not found. page. That's where it's the most likely to be heard and responded to.
Thank you, great idea! I didn't even realize that existed.
FYI - if you go to the speedgrader ----- click in the frame of the quiz ---- right click and select all ----- then ctrl+P for print dialogue box ----- print out the quiz/exam.
Formatting is horrible and a 50 question exam eats up around 30 pages of paper, but the student can review it. I think it is ridiculous that Canvas will not let you print a student's exam in a normal manner.
I just realized this was already answered and the question has been around since 2015 - I guess nothing is going to be done to allow printing.
Stephen, here's an interim solution for printing a quiz generously provided by Chad Scott : Print Canvas Quizzes UserScript
This does, indeed, work, from FF it presents as a print preview if desired and then print. It would eat up a lot of paper if one was going to use it as a hard copy exam for students but to have a paper version on the desk for "comparison with other stuff / whatever" it does, indeed, work.
