I wanted to know if the graded surveys could be created to include questions that appear only if a student answers in a particular way to the previous question.
I do not think this is possible, Jessica Ha ... since I think the question types are pretty much the same as graded quizzes. It sounds like a good feature idea, though, that you could post here: Canvas Feature Ideas.
I'll second what Chris said about this functionality not existing in Canvas, but that it would be cool to have!
What I've done before for this type of question logic is use Survey Monkey. It's free and you can post a link to the survey from Canvas. If it's important to know how each student scored (which I'm assuming you want since you were asking about graded survey's and not ungraded) you could add a question in Survey monkey asking the student's name, ID#, etc. One caveat to using Survey Monkey is that you can't mark a question as "right or wrong." You can mark that if a student answers a certain way they'll get a certain question or series of questions, but no direct way to grade, that would have to be done manually.
Jessica Ha thank you for taking the time to follow through with creating a feature idea request for Survey Functionality- Questions Appear Only When Specific Answers Are Given to Previous Question.
