Could you all do me a big favor and vote for this issue? It would allow administrators to force students to get email notifications of course announcements and inbox messages, by allowing default and forced notification settings by user role. Currently students can turn off receiving notification emails, so there is no guarantee they will get important news and messages in a timely fashion. It is also useful to set default notification settings for other items to prevent notification burnout. Would like to hear some discussion about what notification settings work best for students and instructors.
