Does Storyline content used in Canvas have to be SCORM?

I have content in Storyline 2 that I'd like to use in Canvas. It doesn't have to be tracked so it's not necessary for it to be SCORM. I can get it to work in Canvas as a SCORM package, but the downside of that method is that then it doesn't work if accessing Canvas with the Canvas App because that App doesn't support SCORM. My Canvas course needs to be accessible via browser and the Canvas App

Is it possible to use the Storyline 2 output as web-only output? What are the downsides to doing that? Can it be hosted within Canvas or is it necessary to host it externally? Does it take up more space than SCORM?
