Panopto will not show my screen so I can present a powerpoint and record myself at the same time. I have searched everywhere! I have a mac book air. Please help!
Are you using the trial version? Seems PowerPoint 2016, 2015, 2014 and the trial versions are not compatible with the Panopto Mac Recorder.
Hi Susan Dordal Welcome to the worldwide Canvas community! In addition to Yaddira's suggestion, I have a few of my own, though I'm not a Mac user.
-Make sure you have downloaded the absolute latest version of the Panopto recorder software. The software does NOT update itself automatically, so this is a necessary step. Also, even though it should work fine "out of the box," it does not hurt to reboot your computer after installing it.
-I'm not acquainted with the Mac interface, but it appears you selected to capture the PowerPoint. Unless you ALSO chose to do a screen capture (you can actually select both), that may be why you are not seeing anything on the screen capture part of the dialog box. (Panopto will capture PowerPoint as individual "static" slides and index the results by slide title. So it will not capture things like animations, etc.) To test this out, you may want to record a few of your slides (don't do a whole lecture) and double-check to make sure they were captured.
