Hi all,

I wanted to put this out to the community, even though some of you I'm sure have seen it, because of the increasing mandate for 'web/content accessibility'. This is truly a valuable webinar series on 'Principles of Accessible Design' by Jess Thompson <jess.thompson@sbctc.edu> with the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC).

Even though the first one is past, I have copied and pasted the Webinar recording and included resources from it below, along with the schedule for the remaining three webinars.

The 'Principles of Accessible Design.pptxslide show from the webinar, which is very teachable and easy to understand, is attached at the bottom of this post.

Webinar recording (captions are on their way – in the meantime, you can see for yourself how inaccurate machine generated captions are).

Apologies for forgetting to hit record from the very start.

Webinar Q&A follow up Google doc (this allows me to edit/add to if needed – feel free to leave comments or email me if you have addition input/advice that you’d like me to add)

SBCTC public facing Accessibility 101 Training

This course is geared towards faculty and staff in the community and technical college system, but there are a variety of lessons and resources that may be relevant to folks outside of the system. Plus, it’s updated/added to regularly. I suggest you bookmark it for future reference.

If you are attending any upcoming webinars, keep an eye out for a reminder and updated webinar link (one with better call in options and fewer live caption problems).

See below for the schedule of upcoming webinars. Click on the webinar name to see a full description and to register - all registered attendees will receive a copy of the webinar materials and recording:
