Microsoft SQL Server Management Tool Connection

I am trying to connect the Amazon Redshift to Microsoft SQL Server Management Tool (SSMS) but I get the message identified below.  Has anyone been able to successfully connect the Amazon RDS to SSMS?

I'm not very familiar with using SMSS, but it seems like this troubleshooting thread may have some good tips for looking at the SQL Server logs.

I double checked the Redshift URL you were providing internally and it does appear to be up and running.

One other question for you Deactivated user,

What I am trying to accomplish is getting the weighted average by assignment by course.  I am using Microsoft Power BI and I am concerned that the results I am getting thus far may not be correct.  

I am pulling the tables:

account_dim

assignment_dim

course_dim

course_section_dim

enrollment_dim

submission_dim

user_dim

Should I be using score_dim?  I am using the relationships between the tables that Power BI will permit.

Hi Micheal,

The submission tables are going to give you all the grades for each

assignments that you can then aggregate. It looks like you are using the

correct tables.

The score_fact/dim will only provide you the current_grade and final_grade

for a user's enrollment. This is for the entire course, not just an

assignment.
