I am using Respondus 4.0 on the publish wizard course area list not displaying.
Hello Prashant Srivastava...
Have you tried enrolling yourself as an instructor into the course that you'd like to upload your quiz questions to using Respondus? That's what works for me. I actually upload all questions for a quiz into my own sandbox course where I'm enrolled as a "Teacher", and then I use the course import tool to copy the questions from my sandbox course to the course in question. Works pretty well.
Prashant Srivastava Welcome to the Canvas Community! Have you followed the instructions on pages 43-44 of the Respondus 4.0 User Guide for Instructure to set up your Canvas credentials? Please refer to Respondus's documentation at Respondus 4.0 Guides .
Yes I was follow but the course area not showing.
Something like this is pretty hard to troubleshoot. To start the most obvious place, make absolutely certain that on the first, initial page that opens in the Respondus software (the "Open or Create" tab) that you have properly set the Current Personality to Canvas.
Otherwise, it is hard to say what may be occurring. I just now tried publishing a quiz to our server first with my administrative rights and then with a regular faculty account and both worked just fine. If you are NOT the Canvas administrator, you may want to see if an administrator runs into the same issues that you are. If you ARE the administrator, this may be worth a support ticket to the folks at Respondus.
I am Canvas Administrator and still facing the issue as course list not appearing at my end. Coz of this I am unable to import anything to Canvas.
Please help me!
Please check the highlighted area:
No Course are displaying.
Well, it looks like you had better contact the Respondus support for this, assuming everything else is working fine in Canvas. Their support page is: Respondus Support - Powered by Kayako Help Desk Software . As I said, this is pretty hard to trouble-shoot for the Community unless anyone else has seen something like this.
I believe that you actually MUST be enrolled as an instructor in each course you wish to add stuff to via Respondus 4.0.
I have used Respondus 4.0 for years & that is how I was trained back in 2011...
Yes, this is working.
Thanks for the help!
I realize, after reading both Dallas' and Gabrielle's replies, that this is absolutely correct Prashant, and I apologize for not thinking of this. It's too easy for us admins me, at least, to forget which "power" resides in which role. In hindsight, the only courses that I saw when trying this out earlier were the ones where I was the instructor rather than all of them. So indeed, make sure you are an instructor somewhere FIRST and then give it a try. Thank you, Dallas and Gabrielle!
