It would be helpful to have a statistic that counts how many times students post in the discussion, both in creating their own threads and responding to other student/instructor threads. Any thoughts? Solutions?
Thank you for raising this point Michael. When I'm reviewing a student's posts for a discussion in the SpeedGrader, I'd like to be able to focus my efforts on scanning the content of their posts, without having to bean count how many posts they've submitted, after assessing their work. Having a post count at the top of the page would make discussion grading a one step process, saving much time. This is one example where Blackboard is more efficient.
James Jones wrote a Google Sheet that will do the discussion count for you. It has been very helpful to me even though we are not a Google school.
