In Blackboard I could easily sort my students in grade book view by who was already graded (or by highest to lowest scores). This was a valuable function! Does Canvas allow for this? How?
Donna, I don't know how Blackboard does things, so I can't say whether this is the same or not, but it's how Canvas does things.
You may click at the top of any column in the gradebook and it will sort by the values in that column. If you click again, it will reverse the sort. The students who do not have a grade will be placed at the bottom. You can also use this trick to sort by the overall grades for the course.
Another way that may be helpful is inside SpeedGrader. When you click on the admin cog at the top left of the screen, you can set the sort order to submission status. That will group those that need graded together.
Wow! I didn't know you could do this in the gradebook! Thanks for providing the correct response!
Come on, Kona, you know everything about Canvas. I thought you must have been answering the question based on the knowledge of what the other software did and because it had some really weird, jacked-up way of doing things while Canvas was straightforward and simple was why you said "no".
Nope, really didn't know that! I really do learn something new everyday in the Community!
Wonderful! Excellent! This worked. I was hyper focusing on the drop down menu and and not just clicking in the general field. (Its the little things that make me happy!) Thanks!
