I wonder if it is possible to create a "button" that automatically link to "current week module"?
I wish to integrate a "this week module" button at my course home page, so the students can access the current week module directly. Also it would be nice to have a similar button to "last week module" and "next week module".
Regards,
Ron
Hello Ronny Steen
Welcome to the worldwide Canvas Community! Your question may get a few responses from people much more creative (and definitely more knowledgeable) than I am, but rest assured you can definitely do this in Canvas. First of all, I invite you to join the Instructional Designers community group, where two of the links I'm about to direct you to originated. First is the great Stefanie Sanders blog posting: Creating an inviting course home page . Although Stefanie's example shows the main MODULES landing page as a link, you can definitely do this with individual modules, as well. However (and this a reason I tagged Stefanie), I seem to have heard some buzz that Canvas may be deprecating the use of those "btn" styles. I may be 100% wrong on this, but I just wanted to make sure so hopefully someone can set me straight on that one.
Another good resource is Chris Long's Home Sweet Homepages without Tables . And finally, check out Creating a "button" oriented syllabus page from Joshua Emmitt. Joshua points to a great resource that I have used, as well, when helping faculty with pages, a site called Da Button Factory: website button maker . That site will be perfect, especially if those "btn" styles are going away. I recently helped a faculty member build a home page using buttons created on that site.
I hope this helps a bit, Ronny!
