Quizzes, Multiple Attempts, Average Score

My plan is to allow students two attempts on each quiz and their final grade be an average of the two attempts.  Setting those parameters is pretty straight forward.  However, I'm wondering about students who do well the first time. Is there a way to allow them to keep their first score and opt not to take the quiz a second time?  As an example, suppose someone earns 100% on their first attempt.  Is there a way for them to simply keep 100% as their final score and not take the quiz a second time?
