I somehow allowed myself to receive all emails with questions from other students. How do I stop it? Please and thank you!
Hi Julia Aussenard
I am guessing you are a student, and I am also guessing that you are referring to notifications you have set to go to your email account (or other location). If I am incorrect, please let me know).
Can you tell me what kind of notifications your are referencing? since you mentioned "questions from other students", I suspect you are referencing a notification from Discussions - again, I could be wrong. If this is so, then you can learn how to set and revise your Notification Preferences at How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as a student?
If I have missed the boat here in any way, just let me know sov I can better help you.
I get multiple messages each day from other students posting for help. I am a first time student and not that tech savvy. Thanks for your help. My first semester I'm just trying to keep distractions to a minimum. (-;
I think I will just leave this as is... maybe I can learn something from some of these questions...
I am going to assume that you are subscribed to a discussion in your course where other students are asking questions and you are getting notifications each time a student posts a question in the discussion. Leaving things as is and learning from those posts and replies sounds like a good way to learn yourself but if you decide you'd like to opt out, I'd recommend checking the discussion to see if you can unsubscribe from it.
That is not a bad idea, Julia, but I do know that too many emails can get distracting. typically, though, if these are questions to the instructor, they will slow down after the first week.
Keep in mind that you can modify your Notification preferences any time you want and as often as you want. You might want to go in and turn off notices for things you anticipate you will not need.
I hope this helps,
Were you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity in a while so I assume that you have the information that you need. If you still have a question about this or if you have information that you would like to share with the community, by all means, please do come back and leave a comment. Also, if this question has been answered by one of the previous replies, please feel free to mark that answer as correct.
Yes I did...thanks so much!
