Viewing Delayed Announcements
I would like to to view my delayed announcements, in the chronological order in which they will be posted. How do I do that? Anyone?
I just tested it out. If you click on the RSS feed button in Announcements- you should see them in Chronological order with the previous/most recent announcements starting at the bottom and the future announcements at the top of the list.
Just a note, when I click on the RSS feed button- I get a pretty view- not complete HTML. Hope it is the same for you.
Hi Trinity Ordona ~ About a month ago Sky V. King (FIU Online) suggested using the RSS feed to view a list of future announcements. Did this help you find the information you needed? If so, you can mark the reply "correct", but if not, it would be great to know that too so the Canvas Community can dive further into your question. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Actually, the RSS feed was a bunch of code that I am not used to reading, nor do I want to; so no real help. doing a fix on Announcements so you can see, chronologically, what is coming up is a good idea.
Hi Trinity Ordona...
As I was reviewing older questions here in the Canvas Community, I came across your question and wanted to check in with you. The feedback that you received form Sky V. King (FIU Online) is correct. And, you're also correct that you do get a bunch of code when you click on that RSS icon via your "Announcements" page. This is where you need to utilize a RSS Feed Reader that will populate your announcements for you. For example, if you are using the Google Chrome browser, there is a Google Chrome add-in called "RSS Feed Reader" which you can add (for free) that will then bring in your announcements. This is an example of how mine looks from my "sandbox" course:
You'll be grabbing the URL from the address bar in your web browser (where you saw all the code) and then paste it into the RSS Feed Reader. I can then click on any of these announcements, and I can read the announcement inside of Canvas. So, if you wanted to give the Google Chrome add-in a try, you can just type in RSS Feed Reader into the Google search engine, and it should be one of the first search results. Hope this helps, Trinity.
