We are a community college in the midst of a year-long migration to Canvas. We are super EXCITED about Canvas, but I (main admin) am being approached by parts of the college that have not traditionally been users of our current LMS. For example, we have a compliance office that has to do mandatory federal training for all faculty, staff and students, and they want to use Canvas to deliver the training. However, this goes way beyond the credit courses we are used to supporting, and -- it seems to me -- introduces another level of complexity since it will bring in staff users that are not traditional students and faculty.
Anybody have experience using Canvas for wide-scale professional development? Or other types of campus-wide training? I would love to hear about uses beyond traditional courses and how that works. Thanks.
