How do I hide a column in Gradebook?
Lauren Sayer I know that you can click View > Filter and then choose either Assignment Groups or Modules. But I don't know of a way to hide a specific column in the Gradebook. You can hide/unhide unpublished assignments but that's not what you're looking for either. Elizabeth Beatty posted about wanting to collapse a column. This idea seems similar to what you are asking about.
Anyone else know if hiding a specific column is a current or future feature?
Sylvia Amito'elau Thank You for the fabulous information here. You are spot on. The best option for minimizing columns in the gradebook is to utilize the filters and/or the resizing. There is not the ability to hide or collapse at this time, and it is not planned in either of the two phases for this priority.
Whilst the planned improvements are a big step up in the gradebook there are still some features that some people would like that are not 'yet' there.
What this has told me is that it is so important to plan your gradebook and assignments in advance and take full advantage of the grouping features.
What does concern me a little bit is for shared courses where there are multiple sections using the same course. It would appear increasingly that Canvas is not best designed to deal with this model. Whilst you can direct assignments at individual sections there is still no way to do similar with page content. To my untrained eyes I am not sure why it can be done for one feature and not the other?
Lauren...I think I have a similar idea posted. Vote it up
