For a variety of reasons, the design studio I teach at Architecture and ID, which involves junior and senior students, has been split into four different course numbers. Each of the "courses" which are thus formed have between 5 and 18 students. Since that is a purely administrative division, which does not affect the teaching of the course, the total number of students, which is around 65, has been evenly divided (±) into 6 subsections. If you are following, each of the instructors teaching it has about 10-11 students. Because of the administrative requirements, and the fact that some of the students are junior, and some are senior, each instructor teaches a group featuring four different course number. That makes the course organization in Canvas a total nightmare.

Any suggestions for optimizing the Canvas offering so we can combine the students at will into groups/sections by instructor and use the Canvas functionality efficiently?

Thanks,

RT

Raffi, it sounds like you are looking for something like crosslisting - How do I cross-list a section in a course as an admin?

Using this Instructors who are teaching the same content (just different courses) could get all students combined into one course.

Does this help?
