I'm conducting weekly conferences and videoing them so students can access them at a later time. I want to save these video recordings for future semesters. How can I save or copy a concluded video taped conference?
I'm the Product Manger for BigBlueButton (Canvas Conferences). I work at Blindside Networks, so I can't speak on behalf on Instructure.
The default recordings in Canvas Conferences will last for 14 days. They are a synchronized playback of text, images, video, and scalable vector graphics (for whiteboard marks). As such, they are not downloadable.

There is an option to upgrade to the Premium Tier hosting for Canvas Conferences that provides you permanent recordings as video files that are downloadable. For more information on the Premium Tier, reach out to your canvas rep.

That works too If you don't want to upgrade, you can simply record your screen while doing a conference to create a recording, and then upload the video file to a video content management system, such as vimeo or YouTube, for students to view later on.

When you say video taped conference, are you referring to the Conferences tool in Canvas? Where these video recordings done in the Conferences tool or with an actual video recording device?
I often video tape my conferences with the Big Blue Button that is built into Canvas so that students can view it at a later time.
