What do I do if the grading scheme I created is not being applied in the gradebook?
Hello Natalie, we use a custom grading scheme at my school, so I have a bit of experience dealing with this. Here are a couple things to check:
If you're talking about the course grading scheme, you may want to check that you enabled the grading scheme. (See: How do I enable a grading scheme for a course?) This applies to the students' overall grades in the gradebook.
If you want an individual assignment to show the custom grading scheme (instead of points, percent, etc), you need to set that individual assignment to use Letter Grade or GPA Scale, and select the correct grading scheme. (See: How do I add a grading scheme to an assignment?)
Hope this helps!
I did it and It changed the scheme but when I look in the grade book it changed all the current grades to complete. My grading scheme is mastery for 100-70% and Non Mastery for 69-0 %. Now it just says complete and I caint even do this fro quizes
Sorry to hear that. To me that sounds like the assignments are being graded as Complete/Incomplete? Have you checked that they're set to a Letter Grade/GPA Scale setting vs Complete/Incomplete?
See How do I add or edit details in an assignment? (See under "Select Grading Type")
Hi there, Natalie Olson...
I wanted to check in with you because I noticed there hasn't been any new activity in this particular discussion topic since Alex Wolfe's reply on September 6, 2017. Have you had an opportunity to review Alex's most recent response? Did either of his replies help to answer your question? Or, are you still looking for some assistance with this question? If you feel that one of Alex's above responses has helped to answer your question, please go ahead and mark it as "Correct". But, if you are still looking for some help with your original question, please post a message below letting members of the Canvas Community know how we can further help you. For now, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because we've not had much activity in this thread for about two months. However, that won't keep you or others from posting additional questions/comments below. I hope that's alright with you, Natalie. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon!
