I am new here but we have been using Canvas at CityU of Hong Kong since 2014. Our team supports e-learning at our institution.
Around a month ago, the new default course home applied to our Canvas instance. I thought it would be a good idea to promote teachers to use Modules. I also liked the idea of providing a shortcut to reuse contents in a previous course. However, unexpected things happened.
First of all, many teachers called us when they were unable to publish a course without any module. In other words, they did not know they could select "Course Activity Stream".
After a while, we discovered some amazing cases and I am sharing them with you using the screenshots below. In short, teachers are very creative when trying to publish their courses.
I am hoping Canvas can update the system a bit: when there is no module in a new course, allow teachers to publish the course but redirect students to Course Activity Stream.
Please share with me if you have more effective solutions.
Thanks for your time.

Case 2: Adding a Module Title to Publish a Course
Case 3: Adding a Page to Publish a Course
