Quiz Question Grading - Points Entry Misbehavior

When grading a quiz, I have to enter points earned for each question.

When I click into the points entry box and begin entering a value I encounter the following problems:

1. The dashes in the box do not completely clear and if I begin entering the number after the dash a negative number will be the points assigned.

2. Clicking in the text area of the point entry box will initiate up arrow or down arrow behavior EVEN IF I am nowhere near the up and down arrow buttons of the point entry box. If click more than once, the number will go up or down, with each click in the text area. Again, being nowhere near the arrows in the point entry "widget".

I would expect that if I am entering a value through text by hand, clicking in the text entry area should not initiate increment/decrement scrolling.

I'm using FireFox 55.0.3 (32-bit) on a Windows 10 Pro 64bit machine.

This requires that I go back through the quiz to ensure no accidental miss-assignment of points occur.

This is different behavior than I remember when Grading in Canvas last Fall (last time I taught this particular course).
