any tips or info re the two welcome please!
Hi Nicola Langton,
There are indeed two UK related community user groups - this one and also United Kingdom Canvas Group. This group was created at the request of a group of higher education affiliated Canvas users in the UK and is their space to manage and utilize for coordination whereas United Kingdom Canvas Group is meant to be more generally open and inclusive of all UK Canvas users.
Does that make sense?
Nicola - I've just posted a guide onto the JISC email list and also into the UK HE Slack team. Scott Dennis is spot on in saying the United Kingdom Canvas Group is for all of the UK including FE institutions. This UK HE Group is open, meaning once it gets some traction you can advertise it as a space for all of your staff, not just those associated with the Canvas UK HE Group they can simply join/follow at the click of a button. The United Kingdom Canvas Group is closed and so a bit more involved to join (you request membership and then get approved by an admin) (Scott have I got that right?) Hope that helps
That is correct with one small correction. The UK general user group access is "Members Only" as opposed to "Private" which means that anyone can see what is posted in the group but before they can comment or participate they must choose to join the group (no approval necessary).
