Using Catalog/Canvas for a webinar?

My institution has just started using Catalog for its continuing ed offerings, and the first offerings are two webinars. We will have two types of participants:

• One group purchases the webinar and watches it live or watches a recording later
• Another group purchases the recording

Any suggestions about how to set this up with regard to course dates in Canvas and listing dates in Catalog?

I would suggest setting up separate course listings for each webinar and designate either paid and unpaid and then within the Canvas course set up modules for the webinars with the links and then once a person completes the webinar they will be sent a certificate if they want one if this is a required webinar to attend.

We don't charge for our webinar sessions but most of our catalog offerings are synchronous webinars. We set the Canvas Course to open the morning of the webinar session and close that night. The facilitator sends everyone enrolled in the course a message with the web conference link and the time. Also, our catalog specifies the time once you click to view the details.
