We're trying to get a handle on the number of files (doc, ppt, pdf, gif/jpg etc) per course that are coming across in the transition from our previous LMS into Canvas.
When we look at all 'files' in a course (eg SELECT * FROM file_dim WHERE course_id = courseID), we see files that have clearly been created and named by a human (such as Week_1.pdf), and often many more that we are struggling to identify. These often have names like
Can anyone shed light on how these are generated (should we keep them when considering the amount on content an instructor has created for their course?), and/or whether there is a simple way to drop those that should not be included?
