How often should one check the announcement board?

For me personally, I usually check announcements whenever I log in, which tends to be often when I am studying my masters. There is another way for you to keep on top of your Announcements however, you can set up your notification preferences by following this document How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as a student?
If you change your preferences surrounding the 'Announcement' notification type, you can opt to get them via email, or push notifications to your mobile if you have the Canvas Student App installed (see Mobile Guides - Canvas Student ).
