Can a student start submitting part of as assignment and come back to answer further questions, then submit when they have finished all parts?
Kylie, Technically students can submit to an assignment as many times as they want until the “until” date. Yet, they lose access to what they previously submitted when they submit something new to the assignment. The teacher can see all submissions, but will have to use a pull down to switch between them for each student.
I’m not completely sure how you’re planning on using this assignment with your students, but if it’s having them answer a series of questions you might consider making it a quiz. I do this a lot and tell students there’s no time limit, just a due date. The quiz format makes it look like a worksheet and students can go in and out of the quiz answering questions when they want and Canvas will save their answers. Then when the student is ready they can click the submit button to actually turn in the full assignment.
Thanks for your response. I have students that need to submit various parts to an assignment, mostly by uploading files as evidence. I was going to use the assignments as their competency tasks and quizzes as their class activities, but if they cannot make multiple uploads at various times, then I shall use a quiz. Was just trying to differentiate the competency assessed tasks from the classroom activities.
But I can create a group for the assessment quizzes, so will use that so they can see which tasks are actually assessed, and which are for practise.
Thank you for your advice.
