I am giving 4 exams and I only want to count the highest 3 ... is there a way to tell canvas to only use the highest 3 exams grades in the final average ? (There are other items that also come into the grade such as homework and quizzes.
Hi Donna Bassolino Welcome to the worldwide Canvas Community, where Canvas users exchange ideas and ask questions of one another--as you are doing here! Yes, you absolutely can do that, but first you will want to divide up your various assignments (homework, quizzes, etc.) into separate assignments groups on the ASSIGNMENTS page. There are instructions for doing that here: How do I add an assignment group in a course? There is already a default group called Assignments on that page. You can rename it, however, and you can do that from the "rules" settings page, which I'll get to in a moment. But first, be aware that you can move already-created assignments into the proper groups: How do I move or reorder an assignment?
Now, back to the default Assignments group that already exists. You can rename it from the very same screen that you will see where you can create a rule for it and one of those rules is, indeed, to drop xx number of low scores from within the group. There is information for that here: How do I create rules for an assignment group?
I hope this helps, Donna!
