I lost my grades in two of my classes in the grade book tonight. Any ideas on how to restore this issue?
Hi Greg Howarth Welcome to the worldwide Canvas Community, though I imagine you would have liked your welcome to be under somewhat less frustrating circumstances!
Assuming that you, indeed, dutifully recorded the grades in Canvas either in the SpeedGrader or in the gradebook itself, all should not be lost! There is an extremely useful feature in Canvas called grading history. Follow the instructions shown here: How do I view the history of all grading changes in the Gradebook? In fact, it recently had a bit of an overhaul that pretty much keeps track of every grade recorded in a class. (Previously it maxed out at a certain point.)
That should solve the issue. If not, there is a possibility that they may be found on your campus Test or Beta environments, though the latter would have been updated this past weekend and may in fact also reflect the missing grades because of that. (Test was last refreshed about 2 weeks ago, I believe.) But again, both would rely on the fact that the grades were indeed present at some point in time.
If all else fails, it may time to file a case with Canvas support (Help>>Report a Problem), but I really think that the grading history will come to your rescue here, as it has so often for some of the faculty at my own institution. Good luck, Greg!
Thanks and it worked. I went into my history and found the grades as you
guided me to. I added them back in and I am now good to go.
I appreciate your assistance.
Have a great rest of your weekend.

Glad it worked, Greg! Thanks for letting me know. That feature can definitely be a life-saver!
