I need to report an error in a Canvas course. It's unclear how to do that in the support/help pages
No worries at all. Got it, that helps a lot. In that case, I would recommend getting into contact with the owner of the particular course that the content exists. You can do this by following this guide How do I send a message to a user in a course in Conversations as a student? (assuming you have a student role in this course, rather than a Teacher role that could edit the content directly.
You will want to have a look at the 'Course Roster' section on that document, that will let you send a message to one or more of the active teachers in the course.
I am making a couple of assumptions in this here, so I hope they are correct (as far as it being content within a particular course), if that is not correct please let me know.
Does that help and point you in the right direction?
Hi David and Welcome to the Canvas Community,
That would very much depend on what the error relates to, can you possibly describe your issue in more detail please? Also, if you have it a screenshot would be really helpful. Canvas can have many tools plugged into it, so narrowing down what you are having issue with can help us point you in the right direction.
As a general rule, if it is an issue with content, that would be best to report to your teacher/academic/professor. If it is a but with how Canvas works then you have come to the right place, so we just need to ascertain which of these it is (or possibly something else).
We will definitely get you to the right area and I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi Stuart. Thanks for the very swift reply. No it's not a bug, it's the content. Something is repeated on two consecutive pages.
I don't have a professor though I'm afraid. I'm a new member of support staff at a university, and have been asked to use Canvas to swot up on some stuff.
and yes by the way - it's course content, I nearly forgot to say.
That's grand Stuart. Thank you for your guidance on that. I'll have a look at that. Cheers
No worries at all! Let us know how you go, if you have any more questions!
