Is there a way for students to use the turnitin app before submitting their final paper
Hi there, sandy abrams...
Based on your question, I am assuming that you might want your students to submit a draft of their paper to you using Turnitin ... but it's not the "final" draft of the paper. If this is the case, this can be done, and I would encourage you to head on over to Dallas E Hulsey's blog posting called Canvas and Turnitin which you will find in the Plagiarism group here in the Canvas Community. (Note: If you are not yet following this group in the Community, you can click on the group link I provided and then click on the "Follow" button at the top right corner of the screen. You may also need to click on the "Actions" menu which is in the same area of the screen and then click on "Join group".) Specifically, in Dallas' blog, go to the section on I want to set up an assignment sequence of rough draft, peer review, and final draft. I hope this information is helpful to you, Sandy!
Thanx so much Chris…I will!! Happy Thanksgiving!! Sandy
Hi sandy, the resources from Dallas E Hulsey that Chris Hofer suggested are great. I particularly like this video, Turnitin LTI assignment in Canvas - YouTube , as around the 3min mark or so Dallas goes over the optional settings in TII. You may be doing this, but for draft submissions I will normally indicate to TurnItIn NOT to submit the paper to the standard paper repository so that their final draft doesn't show huge similarity to their first draft. Being said, if this happens you can always tell TII to ignore particular sources later on. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanx Kelley…plz forgive my delay in getting back to you…it has been crazier than usual…LOL!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!! Sandy
Thanx Eric!! So appreciate the feedback…Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!! Sandy
