How do I show students their grade thus far as number of points out of total points?
How do I show students their grade thus far as number of points out of total points?
Hello Rachel Goodman - There is a setting in the Gradebook that will accomplish this, as shown here: How do I view my students' total grades as a point value instead of a percentage in the Gradebook? As that documentation points out, once you do this it will not only change for your view but your students' view, as well. In fact, this is as good a time as ever as to try things out using the Student View to see how it will look from their perspective after you have done the change. Also, this will only work if you did NOT weight assignment groups. Bear in mind that the "out of total points" part of your question will only apply to assignments that have been published.
I hope this helps, Rachel!
This is helpful and I might use it next time. However I am weighting
assignment groups, so it won't be useful this time. The best I can do is
make sure to hand-enter 0's for undone assignments, rather than "treat all
ungraded assignments as 0" which also effects future assignments and skews
their final grade. I am learning. Thanks all.
