Even though we're over three years into our Canvas implementation in my K-12 district, many end users have little-to-no experience in using the Canvas Community to its full potential. Consequently, I've recently begun to intentionally highlight the Community and its varied resources with our Campus Technology Advisory Committees and plan to utilize similar strategies with other groups of users going forward.
Here's an example of how you can use a discussion to get users digging into the Community. (I intentionally chose to not hyperlink each specific resource as I thought it valuable for users to practice searching by keyword).
I also point users to the Canvas Guides (Table of Contents and Video Guides) as frequently as possible and gently suggest that, "If you check the Guides first, you can cut out the middleman (me) and likely find your answer faster than waiting on me to reply."
What ideas or suggestions do you have for engaging users in the Canvas Community?
