Import Azure AD accounts as second logins to existing users.

Our students currently log in using LDAP, but we want to start testing login using Azure AD.  We've tried the Authentication setup, but we noticed that it creates new entries instead of detecting active accounts they can be tied to.

Example: Username (LDAP): student and Username (Microsoft): student@school.edu become separate entries even though student@school.edu is part of the student's email information in their profile.

So my question is, can we import users exported from Azure AD and match them up with existing users so that when they log in using Azure AD, they still maintain their setup (basically, when imports, it adds a second login to their accounts that ties to Microsoft)?

Example:

Name: Student

Display Name: Student:

Login information:

student

SIS ID: 01234567

(Office 365 logo) student@school.edu
