Hello --
I frequently copy links between announcements since I need a list of daily agenda items. When copying information with hyperlinks to external sites (such as Google Doc links), I need to take time to delete extra information added by Canvas each time in the new announcement.
The original (copied) text will be written like this: Hyperlink.
When I copy the information, the information appears like this:
HyperlinkLinks to an external site.
When I copy the information from one announcement to another, I have to delete this information each time and it adds time to my work. Is there a way to turn off this feature?
Many thanks!
Mark, I tried three different ways to reproduce this, and figured out why this is occurring. First, I copied the announcement two different ways, both times by first going into Edit mode on the existing announcement: I copied the HTML to create the new announcement, and then I copied the content directly from the Rich Content Editor view; in neither case was "links to an external site" appended to my external URL. I then copied the finished announcement (not going into Edit mode), and only in that case, the "Links to an external site" language was added to my copy.
So the solution is to copy the original announcement from the Edit mode.
